  • On the cut-over date, cn-vpn.uwaterloo.ca will be directed at the new VPN IP address
  • When a user connects to the new VPN, AnyConnect will be upgraded
  • If you have problems connecting with the UW VPN, open the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client. Select either 'cn-vpn.uwaterloo.ca' or 'UW-Campus' as the VPN server. In the pop-up login window, try changing 'UW-Campus' to 'UW-General-Campus' (or vice versa) from the Group drop-down menu.
  • UWaterloo network border policies prevent certain high-risk network traffic, such as Windows file-sharing (getting at your 'network drive') and Unix/Linux X-Windows protocols. Some website and other network resources are restricted to uWaterloo computers only.

  • The AnyConnect client is required for both SSL VPN and IPSec VPN connections.
  • On first connect, version 3.x AnyConnect clients will be updated to the latest version
